Sue is passionate about numbers and people. For twenty-five years she’s been in government and industry accounting, finance and human resources management making debits equal credits to analyzing and managing financial health and personnel within the United States Army, Fortune 500s to small business. Her experience extends well beyond financial statements. For two decades she has worked well within the numbers. Her human resources duties have ranged from daily personnel management to tackling the ever evolving employee benefit compensation package including; payroll, health insurance, retirement plans and labor law compliance. She’s honored to be officially commended for exceptional performance and leadership by the United States Army for her significant accomplishments, achievements and commitment to detail.

Sue holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree, Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree with a Concentration in Accounting and a Certified Bookkeeper’s Certificate. She is also certified by the AIPB in bookkeeping, inventory, depreciation, payroll, internal controls, and fraud prevention. In addition, she’s an approved candidate for the Uniform CPA Examination by the Maryland Board of Public Accountancy.

Furthermore, she’s awarded top recognition as an Impromptu and Public Business Speaker and well known for her strong advocacy for small business or quite honestly, anyone who needs a voice. She has countless hours of volunteering on many 501(c)3s and business advisory boards, coupled with several years teaching primary education.

She is a member of Maryland Society of Accounting and Tax Professionals and the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers.

Don’t let Sue’s general “by the book” personality fool you. She’s quite the fireball. She holds a Maryland Class M license endorsement, enjoys jet skiing in the Atlantic Ocean, snorkeling in the Caribbean Sea, zip lining through the Great Smokey Mountains and most outdoor adventures that involve; water and sunshine. Her thrust for wanderlust is spent in many National and State Parks. While she appreciates the beauty of the Great Smokey Mountains, she’s a coastal southern belle. Huntington Beach State Park, SC home of the Atalaya Castle and Southern Assateague Island National Seashore speak to her soul.

After many years of serving as a corporate executive in financial and human resources management, she has found her true passion in small business support services. Born and raised in rural Western Maryland, daughter to a tradesman and farmer, she witnessed first hand the complexities and struggles of running a small business. Sue’s roots, education and experience are the foundation of her strong desire to be an advocate and partner helping small business owners succeed.
